It has been the year of the YouTube, and we at The DL have wasted just as much time as the rest of you, watching the mostly entertaining, often frightening and always time-sucking content that flows in pixelated glory from the YouTube servers. What would media scholar Marshall McLuhan say about this if he were alive today? Probably something like, "Hey, have you seen that video of the monkey peeing in its mouth?"
